Thumb is about the only one where i can make a strong, crisp firm pluck...I guess because the position of the thumb is different thatn the rest of the fingers.. so how do you pluck with the other fingers. Everytime i do it , they feel weak

Practice will probably help. Also, if you are playing a steel string guitar, you could try using a pick to get a crisp sound.

Your thumb works because you strum downward with it. Practice each of the other fingers by placing the fingertip just below each string and plucking up, as if you are twanging a rubber band. Do this until you're comfortable with each finger one at a time, then practice plucking several strings at once while fingering a chord with your left hand.

which hand are you speaking about? if you're speaking about finger picking? if so than likely purely the three fingers and the thumb. Are you speaking about fretting? if so than sure, you would possibly want to genuinely be employing all 4 fingers. john frusciante is superb, yet that doesnt propose that what he does is the desirable aspect you may do, or maybe the in straight forward words became to sound corresponding to him.

My advice to you would be to use a pick. To me, they are much easier and can make a stronger sound. There is one problem with them though, the sound produced by them is not as deep as when you are fingerpicking. For your problem I would suggest that you press down with your "non-strumming" hand harder and closer to the frets.

So you mean fingerpicking?

I play it like a bass, like instead of holding your hand to pick it the way you would strum, you turn it around so that its facing downward and your arm is up. Like..it's kinda upside down, your hand.

It's hard to explain...
