Media has a 99% impact on what everyone believes is right. If a guy is in love with Brittany Spears he'd want every girl to be tall skinny and blond. Hence, every girl would now want to be like her or some other supermodel anorexic blond chick because we want boyfriends. Guys are in the same boat, girls want guys that are muscular and hot (well, the majority anyways) so guys want to be that way to get a girlfriend. And thus the wheel continues.

Because most people derive a warped pleasure from the ease of meddling in someone elses' life and don't take even scant notice of the wreck their own lives present.
Too, as in many cases - the will to manipulate others. It's called evil. Ever hear of it?

Because the actors and actress look a certain way and that puts pressure on all of us to look the same way, but we all have our own look.

because everyone wants to be able to "categorize" other people, therefore if I'm a Dyke, I should have short hair, possibly dyed blone or at the very least frosted tips, wear mens clothes and be generally "butch". But I don't look anything like that and I still call myself a dyke.
It's said how people want to be diffrent and yet want to categorize other people.

Because it says in the Bible, "Man looks on the outside while God looks on the inside." God loves you just the way you are. If you are kind to people and don't constantly worry how you look, they'll eventually see the real you inside.

It's just a matter of opinion. Different people are drawn to different things probably based on what they are accustomed to seeing. I would guess this is developed at a young age.

Because most people were not taught as children that the different are beautiful too. Everyone's fear is to be "abnormal" or not with it. People just suck sometimes. LOL

Everyone has their own standard for what "normal" or "acceptable" should be. Therefore, it is natural for them to think people should fit into those categories.
