I look similar to mine... but his neck is a little too skinny, and his complexion is a little too nice. I am in the sun alot so I don't look so 'smooth'. I dig the clothes though, they should add more.

Do you?

Everyone looks different and it is impossible for Yahoo to limit everyone in the world into looking like a skinny person who is either Asian, tan, pale, or African-American. All the guys are automatically muscular, clear skinned and have great hair and eyes. All the girls automatically have great hair, anorexic, and clothes they would probably never wear in real life.

99.99% of the time they don't look like their avatars, even if they say they do.

I think the avatars can be interesting and represent a basic image of yourself as you are, or as you want to be, or maybe be totally different from what you are.

However, you should keep in mind that the Answers team has determined that some basic kinds of questions can be considered in violation of the community guidelines found here, http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines.php

One of the examples listed is ...

3. NO CHATTING OR PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS
e. Do you like my avatar?
=================

That's just an example, and I'm sure that it's meant to imply any of the typical conversational questions about avatars that we see here - Rate my avatar, Is my avatar pretty?, Do you look like your avatar?, etc.

It's a common mistake, but I would really hate for anyone who is new to get a violation notice for something like asking about their avatar. I do NOT report people for this kind of stuff, because it happens a lot as people are starting to learn the site. Reports should be saved for more serious stuff, in my opinion. But there are people who seem to like to report everything.

Just something to keep in mind. Welcome to the site and enjoy it!

To a T!
You could pick me out of a crowd from what you now know

Edit: Though I do wonder - Does Y! believe that everyone has those pencilnecks? Try some shrugs fer chrissake (bad for joints to roll shoulders)

In the face I do. The rest of me looks like my avatar if she had three kids and went up four dress sizes. No joke.

I try to make my Avatar look as close to myself as I can. I was really lucky that the face is similar, but my hair is WAY longer. It goes down to my butt.

Absolutely. Precisely. To a "T". I am the spitting image of me. No one looks more like me than I do. In fact, I would state categorically that I am identical to myself, were it not ego-centric and therefore rude in this culture.
Cheers.
