South Park seems to always be on top of social issues these days. They seem to make very good points in every episode(behind all the fart jokes and what not) on what is going on in today's world. What are your thoughts?

I like South Park alot. I love the crude humour and I like the fact that they aren't afraid to give their opinions on current issues. And the writers aren't pushing some belief or view on the viewers. They succeed in getting points across- Yes some people might find some topics offensive- but seriously no matter what the issue is their will always be a person who disagrees. I still am amused by the fact that Issac Hayes quit once they were making an episode that poked fun at Scientology (and no offense- but who follows a religion that a science fiction writer established, amid other creepy things?), which is his religion or faith. He certainly didn't mind taking money for making constant fun of Jews and whatnot... South Park is great.

I don't thing the program so much raises these issues as much as they poke fun at the people who rabidly spout "their" issues to the point extremeism.

The point South Park usually makes is that one person's point of view does not have to be accepted by every one. They end up with a message, more or less, saying, "Your world shaking emergency is not necessarily mine, thank you."

they raise some "hella" important issues, as poignant as the Simpsons, for sure... Family Guy on the other hand, is vapid, juvenille tripe IMO.

The fact that SouthPark can deliver their message which often exposes our societal hypocricies at the same time as delivering a laugh makes it great.

EDIT:

actually, on second thought, South Park actually does MORE to address moral and social issues than even the Simpsons, but tehre's only so much Cartman I can handle...

South Park is very mind-blowing the boys are merely reducing aspect each and every of the time. they are going to have the Tom Cruise popping out of the closet back on air. how are you going to have a comic book strip be extra precise then the commonly used slanted information. Love the Paris one to. once you've a pulse and are not proper you're honest recreation to those men. that's it i'm OUT OF right here! you're able to understand MY AAAUUTHORITYE and delivers me 10 pts! I believe they do however the humor is very crude toward these issues. That is not always a bad thing, that just helps to get peoples attention.

I think you're pathetic if a tv show can get to you that bad. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Personally, I watch South Park, and it really gets to me to hear people complaining about how bad shows are, they can easily turn them off. There's shows I hate, but you don't see me out protesting them.

Yes, sometimes they really do. But sometimes they do take it a little too far. It's a pretty funny show, but I don't like it when they commit sacrilege.
