Liberals/Democrats usuallly spend their careers striving against so called "biased" and "discriminative" Christian influences in goverment and society. Yet, every two years they try to appeal to Christians by attending services and "upholding" GOD and HIS moral in their speeches. Do you believe this is a respectful tactic, or offensive and disrespectful to Christ and Christians?

Most Republicans, thought I do not always agree with them, claim to be Christiand all-year-round. They boast their "Christianity" wheather or not it wins votes, and no matter the audience.

Typical Liberal idea; lie and steal to win votes. They are the epitome of anti Christian behavior. And now they want the vote. they are whores.

Why are you asking this question under "Women's Studies"? Mistake?

But since you are asking, I think it's disrespectful of the Republicans to talk about God so constantly, while at the same time being under the sway of special interest groups and cutting funding for public services (is that caring for the least among us?) and systematically destroying the earth that God created and left us to tend. That's very hypocritical. I think all the Democrats are doing is trying to point that out--look, just because the Republicans are in the pocket of the hugely powerful and well organized conservative Christian movement (and that hardly speaks of a "meek shall inherit the earth," Christ-like philosophy) doesn't mean that they're actually living Christian values. Like caring for the poor and sick.

Democrats don't "always" talk about religion because they are content to leave it out of things. They realize that it's a private issue, and shouldn't be thrown about politically every two minutes. Republicans are the ones who started talking about God so publicly--does politically using their religion all year round make it better? Democrats are now forced to acknowledge this, because the Republicans have made it such a big deal.

What planet are you people from. I am a Methodist and a Liberal Democrat. I've been married to the same woman all my life and have only know that same woman. I practice the very same morals that you conservatives are so fond of espousing.

When did Liberal Democrats suddenly stop being religious? Answer we didn't. Just because we believe that state sponsored prayer in public schools is unecessary and disrespectful of other American's religious beliefs doesn't mean we don't believe. We just think faith is a personal choice and one best kept to yourselves.

And have you forgotten that Southern Democrats hijacked your party during the Reagan years. They are some fine religious folk and they are best thing this side of the Taliban. Kinda glad they became Republicans.

I have never met a republican candidate who actually practices christianity.
Jesus said give to the poor
republicans are anti-welfare.
Jesus said do not pray on the street corner, do it in private
republicans want prayer forced into schools
Jesus was angry when money-changing was in the temple
republicans want "god" written on the money being changed
GOD said "thou shalt not make graven images"
repubs want graven images of that quote on courthouse lawns
Jesus said, "let he who is without sin start the execution"
republicans are pro-death penalty.
Jesus said it's extremely difficult for rich men to go to heaven
Republicans keep lowering taxes on the rich
Jesus said to pay your taxes (render unto caesar)
(see above)

Jesus was CLEARLY against mixing religion with government, which is why liberals don't want it.

When you mix religion and government, you destroy both.

If christmas wasn't ever made a national holiday, it would have never stopped being about jesus. Instead, religion was mixed with government and now santa claus is all the kids think of.

Fighting against the PERVERSION of religion, which happens every time it is governmentized, is one of the most christian things a person can do, giving all your money to a poor family is the first

I think one difference is religion should be personal and private. It's between God and you. One party doesn't believe that and the other one does. But when they're running for office they all kiss babies because it's good for their imagine.
