I'm sad that you feel that way hun. I think he loving you and asking you to marry him and to spend the rest of your life with him is the best cmpliment a man can give to a woman and outweighs any past relationships or ther women. I wouldn't waste my time wondering what if he would have married someone else instead of me. Instead I would be damn happy that he did. Especially if he is a good husband and treats you with the ultimate love and respect. There are so many bad marriages in this world. So many, many abusive marriages. Not many loving, dedicated ones. It's a same when a spouse have a good marriage and she's not put into the hospital for mental or physical abuse who she's has t mourn over irrelivant past. If I were you the next time I saw my husband I'd show him as much love as possible and thank him for being who is not who he was.
Stop letting the past ruin the present. Pretend your new life starts today. You'll be so much happier. Good luck hun. I'm on your side.

Get over it! He is with you, and loves you in a different way than the first. Why would you want him to feel the same way about you that he did about someone else. Don't ask for the details of his past love, just make sure you are loving him now!

I agree with some of the above comments. Love changes and grows. The love he felt for her is not the same as the love for you. Why are you sad? Did he say you were a second choice.

Well....you relay should not think of love that way. It's like asking who you live more, your mom or dad. Try to think of love as different...love between person X and person Z is totally different then love between person F and person T. Love is unique.
It's not as if your the 'second choice'...your his only choice. Think of all the guys who have wives who have died.....you think all their new wives feel like 'seconds'? Think they live every day saying 'well he'd dump me if his first wife came back to life'.
In the end, he is your husband....and hopefully he does love you.....he did after all marry you. So stop worrying about nothing.

I can answer that with authority, cause I know exactly how it is....It hurts beyond belief to know that you were selected as the "consolation prize"! I have hurt for 35 years with that pain, and that thought.!....
