well yes if you run the air conditioner your going to get low on gas faster than normal. The air conditioner burns more energy causing more gasoline to be used. Your best bet would be to just leave the windows down when your just cruising around in town. You might want to just run the AC when you do highway driving or are going on a trip or something. I never use my ac unless im going on the Highway.

Yes - it absolutely affects gas mileage. You can get better gas mileage by not running the air conditioner, but then you'll be hot.

Running the air conditioner does decrease fuel mileage (it takes horsepower to run the air conditioner). But driving with your windows up, especially at highway speeds takes more energy than the air conditioner.

I have seen reports where the differences between the to are minimal, so it really doesn't matter what you do. Keeping your windows down creates a lot of drag on the car, therefore you have to apply more gas to get up to speed. I go with the ac and i haven't noticed much difference either.

If you are driving in town starting and stopping it is better to roll the windows down and not run the air. but if you are on the highway it is better to run the air conditioner.

The ac gets its power from the engine, so you need to burn gas to run it.
So, yup, you would get better mileage if the ac is off

It will lower your mileage a bit, but is still more efficient than driving with the windows down.

Yes it will but the effects are very minimal. On the highway you will actually save a small amount of fuel.In stop a go traffic it may cost you a little milage.
