Yes, i was born to a abusive family on a council estate, we had no money because my mother, who ended up a single parent, wouldn't work, i was bullied and ended up with health problems.

But at the age of 17 i left, did my A levels, i took a few years to sort out my health, worked, got my NVQ 2 in food prep and cooking, i got engaged and now I'm going to uni in September.

I did all of this, it wasn't easy, some people are born and die the victim but i made myself a winner.
I even talk to some of the people who picked on me, and they admitted they were sorry and that they were wrong, because when you have faith in yourself NO ONE can mock you.

So yes, you make your own luck!

hope this helps: the purest definition of luck is a combination of preparedness and opportunity, most of the time when we are lucky its either we are consiously, subconciously or sponteneously prepared for an activity be it a test, game etc. and then the opportunity also has to arise, without these two there's no such thing as luck. think about it most of the time when we are lucky say in a game, the opportunity has to come for a win and them when you see such opportunity and you have lost all hope that split second you act on impulse is a form of preparedness( as you are spontaneously prepared to go for it). many a time pple practice(prepare) awaiting a condition(opportunity) and when this condition arises and the practice pays off, it is termed lucky. most pple that say "he was just lucky " are not there during the preparation process but are present at the opportuned time. in conclusion you can create your own "lucky situation". But outside all this, there is always the intervention from the nth dimension, PROVIDENCE that is the only luck you cannot create as it is created by GOD Himself, maybe thats what you meant to ask, if it is then you cant create Gods' kin of luck, cos you dont need preparation for that neither do you need opportunity as He will create both and leave you dumbfounded.

I certianly think so, in my language there is a saying that goes: Wat jy saai sal jy maai. Witch means wot u put in u get out, so luck is just sum made up figment well then there is so called bad luck, gggg, bad things happen so live with it, it will pass and your "luck " will change sooner or later! For egsample there is this really hard test so the dumbes but most hard working kid in the class got an a and everybody got c's sum ppl call that luck, I say the guy with the a just studied very hard.

Definitely! Whatever thoughts dominate your mind...is what you're focusing on...whether it's making money, worrying about bills, finding a lover, or just getting something to eat because you're hungry.

To change your "luck" in life...you need to put more energy into the area of you're life that you'd like to change!

No. I believe there is nothing about life that is "luck." I believe we were all put on Earth for a purpose. We must fulfill our purpose or our lives will not go smoothly!

I believe we are blessed, directed, instructed, disciplined, and led by God in our lives. Faith, hope, love, and grace guide our lives. We are given challenges in our lives to build our character and our faith. It isn't what we MUST go through in life that makes us strong; it's the WAY we go through whatever comes into our life that determines who we are as human beings.

Luck comes from perseverance and hard work and from destiny, which of course is pre-ordained.

Also as they say:

When a man's willing and eager... the Gods join in!

PS:Man should be construed as a general word for a human being!

No. I think you can make informed decisions that will improve your life but sometimes, life will throw you a curve that you can't avoid. Just keep trusting in the Lord, when this happens, to bring you through it.

yes !! if you always belief that you have bad luck then that's what you will have. if you choose to change your thoughts to more positive one then your life will be more positive. you get what you put out into this universe and its up to you to make those choices. free will!

Most certainly yes. And I don't have any religious belief in karma but I do belief there is some truth to the principle. My grumpy friends do seem to hit more red lights. :) Garbage in, garbage out, and by their fruits ye shall know them, right?

Yes, sometimes. Sometimes you can't help the crappy hands you get dealt, but you can usually do something to change to circumstances. Raise the stakes, or fold and start over.
