Is there a way to get some one to publish my poetry in a book? Or do I have to make my name made for myself first? What would I have to do to get a book with all my poetry is what I'm basically wanting to know.

If you want to get someone else to publish your book, publish the individual poems in magazines and online journals. A good place to find a bunch of journals is here: www.drowningman.net.

If you want to publish it yourself, Lulu.com will make a good looking book and only charge you 5-6 bucks a copy, depending on how many pages. It's free to set something up, they just charge you per copy after that, and there's no minimum numbers of copies you have to buy.

You can get a chapbook published. I got mine published here: www.foothillspublishing.com, they don't pay you money or anything, but at least they don't charge you a fee and you get ten free copies of your book.

It is very hard to sell poetry books, because a lot of people don't like poetry; they don't understand it. I would also try to get published in online poetry magazines and print magazines. Here is a directory of publishers: www.clmp.org

The book, "Poet's Market" has a good listing, too.

If you're not already a published poetess you may want to look in to self-publishing. Otherwise I would suggest checking out sites like www.spoiledink.com which can help you get your poetry out there which in turn can help you get published.

I took a writing class at the local university and first time being published was in an anthology the professor put together. Once you've had one published it's much easier to get others published.

poetry is harder than any other writing to get published. face it- we just don't live in an age where poetry is widely appriciated. you want a whole book? you have to get your feet wet. enter some poetry contests, send them into magazines- get a few published here and there. maybe write essays or short stories to accelerate your name through the "writing world," then approach a publisher about putting out a whole book of poetry.

There are certain guidelines you may want to be familiar with before jumping in with both feet...some publishers will overlook your writing if you don't comply with their expectations.
You may want to check up on the community colIege for any topic relating to your request...sometimes universities have seminars/short classes which offer classes on this subject.
I would suggest a search engine for self-publishing books but you can always go to Barnes & Nobles or Borders for most of your needs on that topic....btw,self-publishing can be something you may do well at,given you know the tricks of the trade.
Here are a few sites that may interest you-pertaining to your question in details.........
