yes. we just don't have the technology to find out until 16-18 weeks, but the sex is already determined at conception.

yes, like you said at conception when the sperm meets the egg. the sex is determined be the chromosome of the sperm, X or Y. the eggs are all X chromosomes. a XX combo makes a girl and a XY combo makes a boy.

Actually when the father produces the sperm, since he is the one who determines the sex of the child.

If you mean when the doctor can tell you its usually about 17-19 weeks when they can tell on the sonogram. However it all depends on if the baby cooperates.

My son cooperated and we found out when we were 171/2 weeks.

well sometimes the test can be wrong so to be absolutely sure when the doctor pulls them out and say Its a BOY or GIRL

males have x and y chromosones and females just have y chromosones... so yur partner could contribute x to make it male or if he gives a y it would be y + y = a girl. so pretty much at conception.
