Oakland Athletics shortstop Miguel Tejada, who on Sunday played in his 499th consecutive game, the longest active streak in baseball, is expected to suit up for No. 500 on Tuesday against the visiting Texas Rangers.


NEW YORK -- Hideki Matsui tried for a sliding catch, landed hard on his left wrist and grimaced.

His consecutive games streak was over at 518 -- and perhaps his season, too.
