I mean all the scams, cons, tricks, and common sense issues that normal human beings would normaly be aware of seem irrelevent in the internet world.

Is that it, really? I think all the scams, common sense issues, and uneducated people are out there in the real world, too, it's just that they're easier to avoid. Your friends are probably not all con artists. On the other hand, everyone comes together on the Internet (at least, until/unless it becomes more regulated), so you see a greater cross-section of society.
BTW, you misspelled "irrelevant."

People have always fallen victims to cons. But, people that have never been exposed to them have a mantra 'It can't happen to me', so they don't do anything to protect themselves. And that's what the con artists are waiting for. The Internet simply makes naive people more accessable. The seller can lie about who they are to the 'customer' and the customer falls for it. : (
And rather than learn from the mistakes of others and all the warnings out there, they simple blunder in head first. Then, when they are victims, it's always someone else's fault, never theirs, meaning they don't learn from their experience.

I think it's because everyone is out for themselves. They just want quick money and don't care how. Plus you can't really see their faces or true identities.

thats because most people on the internet in the middle of the day dont have jobs and are easy to profile.... most are not very sharp and usually fat and ugly dumb asses
