For sure, we learn so much by doing it.

Yes, billions of dollars are spent (probably yearly, if not monthly) on the space programs, but guess what, that money goes back into circulation. All the program really costs us is man-power, and raw materials. There is no alien toll booth sitting at the edge of Earth's atmosphere asking for a billion dollars to pass. We learn a lot and gain really jazzy technology from the program.
For those of you who have not heard. In about another million years (I don't know the time-frame, that's a guess) the sun is going to begin to lose energy. Because it has used up so much of its energy (which translates into less mass) it will also lose some of the gravitational force which holds it together. It will begin to grow in volume. Eventually it will grow close enough to the Earth that this planet will be sucked into it. I for one do not want my great great great great great... grandchildren to still be here when this happens.
LONG LIVE NASA!!!

We should use unmanned probes to save $ and divert that $ to more Home Planet friendly ventures. I think humankind should get out of manned space flight altogether except the space station. If we cant come together as a spices ( Man & Womankind ) to take care of this planet we have no business on any other.

Definately
The world is too small for humanity. Humanity needs a constructive outlet for all the pent up energy and wars are getting sooo boring.
