I thought you had to wait like 4-6 weeks or a little more after you give birth.

Just so you know , first off it takes up to three years for a woman's body to fully recover from childbirth. And that is if there are no complications.
You CAN become pregnant as early as 5-6 weeks after giving birth. This has happened to many women. But I would suggest waiting at least 3 months after. You should definately ask your Dr. though. Because you could have health factors that should be taken into account.
As for choosing the sex of your baby--I don't think this is possible. It's usually 50/50.

Most doctors suggest waiting 9 months between pregnancies but you of course don't have to, you can get pregnant pretty much the next month if you don't think you're too tired as it is. Anyway, boy sperm are fast and die quickly, girl sperm are slow and live longer. If you want a girl then have sex several days before you ovulate and then not the day before or the day of ovulation. The girl sperm will still be in there and will be the only ones alive when the egg is released. IF you want a boy then don't have sex for several days before ovulation and then do on the day of ovulation and the next few days. Best wishes

I've heard it takes 18-24 mo for the body to FULLY recover from the effects of pregnancy/childbirth. However, there are plenty of people in the world who don't wait that long - and you're actually your most fertile after you have a baby (go figure). If you're breastfeeding it may take a while for your period to return so you may not even have choice in the matter.
With regards to optimizing chances for a particular gender, try to time your attempts around your ovulation. Because the X chromosome sperm are more viable than the Y, have sex a few days before you're going to ovulate. If you're trying for a boy, have sex within 24 hrs of ovulation.

Well, you are supposed to wait 4-6 weeks before even having sex again so I would wait at least that long. I know someone personally that got pregnant with her second child 2 weeks after the first was born!!! she is fine and everything worked out with no complications.. her 4th child was conceived 1 month after the birth of the third child. this lady is fine. so i guess it s up to you and you r hubby.

It's I believe 6 months that you should wait to have another baby. And in regards to the sex, it depends on the position and certain months. Its what I've heard but unsure if it's real. Go to iVillage.com and there's a place under pregnancy that says guess babys sex. Chinese Gender Chart, I found this interesting. It's all in the same site.

It takes 4 years for the body to return to it's normal state pre-pregnancy. But most people don't wait this long. You cannot choose the sex of a baby..God does that for you

You should wait a year to get pregnant again. You have to give your body time to heal and although depending on your body it may take longer, a year should be enough for your body to carry another child.
You can not choose the sex of your child. The sex of a child is up to your hubby or bf's sperm. Women only carry the X gene which is female. Men carry the X(female) and Y(male) genes in their sperm so it all depends on which sperm carrying which gene fertilizes your egg first.

Its best to wait until your child is a year old before having the next one. My kids all have 2 year spacing and I love it. Its close enough that they play well together, but still have 2 grades between them.

Your body can concieve right after pregnancy. Ask your doctor what he recommends so that you do less damage to your body.
You cannot choose the sex of your child. There are millions of sperm that head towards the egg, and it is just dumb luck of which gets there first and gets through the membrane of the egg.
