Different things.
Part of it for me is living for the enjoyable moments. Seeing my son grow up. Enjoying time with friends. Taking pleasure out of helping others... like donating time to help build a house for habitat for humanity.
Another part of it is learning. I believe we never stop learning. Kind of the phylosiphy put forth in the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
Another part is my religious beliefs. We are put here for some reason but it does not have to be profound. Through a peble in a still pond. It's just a small peble but the ripple effect can go on in very large ways. You don't have to save the world to be doing good but if you help your neighbor a little bit it can have profound impacts.
And then bluntly, I'm a chicken. And because the other alternative to living day to day would be suicide and I just would never have it in me to do that.

I have been asked that more times than you can beleive. But just to know that each morning I can wake up and live another day, to make sure that I live out my destiny, We are put on this earth for a reason, each in our own way. You never know how just the act of me answering your question may not be the one you choose but it maybe the one, that someone reads that wonders why do I keep going through this life. That may be part of my destiny and what keeps me going. That everyday I wake up I have not fulfilled my destiny yet. Your family, your loved ones your friends, someone you accidently bump and say excuse me its all a part of your destiny. There are only 2 people on this earth who can decide when your destiny ends you and God...or (higher source) if you don't beleive in God.

I'm a firm believer you can't give up on life. Life is a crap shoot and you must deal with each day as it comes. The day you are born , God has already decided how and when you will die. So until your tasks of life are all done , you must deal with whats at hand.

That's a good question.
The relationships I have with friends and significant others, the thought that one day things will be much better, and simple little things which make me smile (like listening to the idiots on the bus, watching people fall over etc).

Hoping that maybe today something will make me laugh.
You sound depressed. If you think you may be, then seeing a doctor our counselor might help.
