I recently inherited some fishing equipment for my uncle when he passed away a few weeks back. Never been before but I hear its the biggest participent sport in the UK with 1 in every 2 people going every weekend. Anyway may question relates to the equipment and how I should best use it (I don't want ot look like some amater). Its a 130 ton steel outrigger shrimp trawler 'The Mary J Bilge' (named after my mother) holed up in Grimsby. I was thinking of taking it for a quick spin this weekend. I was even thinking of letting Crystal, my pet octopus, go for a little swim (on a long leash obviously). Any tips from you fishing boffins?

I'm not from the UK so What is a "boffin" and are you kidding about this?I thought you meant a fishing pole, but a trawler!!! Come on, you better hire a crew!

I don't know anything about fishing but I like your writing style. You made me smile and painted a great picture.

Good sense of humour too!!
