becuz, that "something" that they're doing isnt really interesting enough.
or say, ppl are just not enjoying the activity they're doing. (just work goes on but not happy to their hearts content.)

because they don't want to do it.they are doing it cause they can't think of another thing to do.so they just do it boringly
