i have windows xp and would just like to if when im away from the computer for a while and it goes off to the sign in screen is there any way of making it a longer time cheers

Go into control panel> click on Power options...here you can change those settings to what suits you best

Go to the desktop and right-click, a sub-menu will appear.
Select 'Properties' (the last option on the sub-menu) and a new window will appear called 'display properties'
Select the 'Screen saver' tab (up the top and 3rd from the left)
In this window there is a box called 'wait', this controls the amount of idle time that will pass before the screen saver is activated, so all you have to do is change it to however long you want

Yes, Right click on the desktop and go to properties.

Then go to screensavers. The timer is in there, and you can take off the "lock-out" ability all together.

if you are on an older computer and have outlook email program set it to get your emails from the server more often like every 3 or 4 minutes. this keeps it busy while you are away.

Go to Control panel -power options disable the stand by mode and hibernate mode might be this is disturbing you check out

Yes, if you right-click on your screen and go to properties, you will see a "ScreenSaver" Tab. there is a Wait period there, you can set it for as long as you need.

write click on the desk top,click on proeperty,click on screen saver, click on an advance of power,desk top change to never,infact change everything there to never.

Yes. Right click on your desktop : click 'Properties' in the box : Select the 'Screen Saver' tab : check the box beside 'on resume, display Welcome screen' : set the Wait time to however long you want the time to be and click 'Apply' : then click ok.

Then you're done.
