Neocon is defined below. The meaning today has morphed to mean an intolerant right winged Republican who wants to keep power no matter what, even if they have to lie, cheat, steal, or kill to keep it. they are warhawks and greedy so much so that they justify war so they can make money.

Neocons defined by other conservatives are generally former leftists who moved to the right after the dissolution of communism. Some neocons have become military hawks while remaining social or economic liberals. Some have turned right on all three issues (e.g. David Horowitz). Much of the griping about Neocons is done because the leftists in the media and Washington DC see them as heretics for abandoning the "faith".

"Neocon" is a word made up by Liberals to describe new conservatives. The term is meant as an insult and meant in the same tone as Neo-Nazi. It is a result of their frustration in the fact that America has and is continuing to agree with conservative values and, thus, the liberal agenda has less relevance. They have lost the White House and Congress and are basically in a meltdown. Liberals claim tolerance but the terming of conservatives as Neocons is just another example that their tolerance extends only to those that agree with them.

It is a neo-conservative, or a new type of conservative, more like the "Sean Hannity" version than a traditional Republican.
