depends on where you go and what language you speak. If you speak spanish it will be easy for you. Stay in the tourist areas and you won't have problems. If you start to get where there are bars on the windows. leave immediately!

It can be quite dangerous. Miami Beach would be much nicer for a tourist - and probably safer. There are areas where not much English is spoken - only Spanish, so be prepared. It is very pretty , but, I have been robbed there 3 times. Coral Gables is nice - Coconut Grove is a must see - very pricey. You have to be very careful what areas you go in to if you decide to go.
