plastic is not degradable and if left on the earth would eventually choke the earth, plastic if burnt there is air polution plastics can be recycled but eventually it has to be destroyed, animals have been know to accidently eat plastic, small children usually put plastic toys in their mouth which if of a cheap quality can harm babies, plastic bags in the hands of small children, can suffocate them if they playfully put it over their heads

For what?
I have been in the plastics industry for quite some time, now.
The plastics we deal in have no real hazards surrounding them. What is your question?

A wide range of hazards are discussed in the documents HERE
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=plastics+hazards&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&x=wrt
My pet plastic hazard is that I do not feel ANYONE should continue for too long eating frozen dinners coming from the SAME company, as any plastics chemistry *weeping* from their dishes will be absorbed in your body in the quantity to which you are exposed, and when it is your FOOD that it is IN, it is HARD to AVOID, so I personally believe you should at least CHANGE UP to a DIFFERENT company's materials, and hopefully then a slightly DIFFERENT exposure, on a fairly regular basis. ;)
