No - if they make it, the American League team will win, no matter whether they play the Mets or anyone else from the National League.
The AL is far, far superior - 127-75 record in interleague games. The last time the NL won the All-Star game was 1996. Two consecutive sweeps in the World Series by the AL - Red Sox in 2004, White Sox in 2005. Look for another sweep, or 4-1 this year, whether against the Mets or anyone else.

If the New York Mets can keep up their winning streak, I can see them winning the NL East Division but it is too early to tell if they will win the 2006 World Series.

Mets verse Tigers/white sox and yes the mets will win they are the only good national league team pretty much. Albert Pujols cant lift the cardinals for the whole season
