Jon Stewart is very good at criticizing others. Some people find that funny. He is smart. But I have found that people who are good at criticizing others, especially if they are good enough at it to make a living, have found their talent, and their only talent. He's doing what he does best and getting paid for it. People who have his talent do not have the ability, I have found, to lead on their own, come up with original ideas, or contribute to society in any other way other than to criticize others. He'd probably make a terrible president.

As for how much sense he makes, I would assert that part of the reason you think he makes sense has to do with the distortion of the actual news casts used by the show he hosts, for satirical purpose.
