send a pm to your self
in IM windows go to actions menu
then contact options and select contact details
there delete your name and family there
have fun

With Messenger open, go to the top menu and Select Messenger > My Contact Details. Removing your first and last name will have it default to your username.
However, you should know this only affects what you see. If you right click on a buddy in your buddy list, and choose "Contact Details" you can choose if you want to see your buddy's full name, first name, nickname etc. Your buddies can do the same when they talk to you.

Change your Name in the Profile... it could be the username...
