OSU-2005: They had a dominating D and a stout O.
OSU-2006: Most of the team is gone and with Wells the running game should be one of the nation's best.
ND-2005: Developing, had a great O but less-than-spectacular D
ND-2006: Great O, bad D
Since CFB is mostly offense, ND should be able to beat a weaker OSU offense. McKnight was a great reciever before the injury, Samardzija is back and more developed, Walker should be a stud and Konrad Reuland was a top recruit. OSU has Teddy Ginn but without Youboty and Whitner; the secondary is more than sketchy.
Drew-I mentioned Wells and I still think the offense will be capable of making it to the Championship game but they didn't just lose linebackers. Try the secondary's strong players and Kudla. If they can replace them efficiently, they have a shot.

Ohio St. will definetly not make it to the national championship. Notre Dame maybe if Brady Quinn plays up to his Heisman potential.

well i'm a diehard notre dame fan, but i've got to admit ohio state was pretty good this past year. they lost a lot of good players, though. i'm hoping & thinking that notre dame will go to the 'ship, but i'm not so sure about osu.
and with quinn and samardzija on offense at the top of their game as leading seniors (likewise for zbikowski on defense) i think notre dame should win it. no matter who they're up against.
GO IRISH!!!!!

O-S-U. Whoever is doubting just wait and see. PHILLIEZ, you know people said the same thing about our linebackers after the '03 season (national championship year) when Wilhelm, etc.. left. That they were irreplaceable but correct me if I'm wrong but after that we just happened to have the best group of linebackers in the country and the best single linebacker overall. Same thing will happen with the holes we have from graduation. Offensively we'll be just as dangerous, still have Troy Smith, Ginn and now the best running back in the '06 class in Chris Wells, did you see the senior game, he destroyed everyone. As for ZOOMZOOMZOOM, you're a dbag. Why don't you move to that crappy state up north. Here's directions : go north until you smell it, hang a left until you step in it. That'll put you perfectly in Ann Arbor.
PHILLIEZ- I'm sorry man, I should've explained my point better and I also miss interpreted the comment about Wells (I simply read it too fast). I wasn't talking about this year; I was talking about in the past. For instance after the championship season we lost our linebacking core. After that people said OSU was in real trouble. Yet the linebackers that replaced them were even better. So what I'm saying is that its not hard for OSU to fill in the holes that they have. Especially in the secondary or at linebacker. Alot of players were able to fill in due to injuries and in the secondary in nickel packages. So what I meant was that they usually do a good job taking care of holes after alot of players leave either due to the draft or graduation.

If these two actually make it to the Championship game, I would have to say Notre Dame. But they won't make it there, so what's the point of arguing about it?
