I rhink they are worth it. Nowadays, if you're worried about being teased, or them being highly visible, they do have invisible ones nowadays. All you have to do is discuss that option with your orthodontist. =)

Yeah, I had braces, they hurt for the first day and a half basically, but then they're fine and it's like you don't even have them anymore your so used to them. They were also SOOOO worth it, they worked their magic in the first week!! I wore them for a little over a year, not too bad. They didn't make me look that different. When I got them off I told some of my close friends and they said they totally forgot I even had braces! I also got silver bands ALL the time! I think it takes away from people looking at them. That way they are all silver and less distracting if you have like orange and pink bands, cute but for a 5 year old. Trust me, you should definatly go for the braces, but don't forget some Tylanol or Advil the day you get them, that's the only time they hurt. And don't believe anyone if they say they hurt when you get them off, they don't. GOOD LUCK!!! Can't wait for the out come of your new smile!!! Luv~Carly

I used to have braces. I had them on for two years, and from time to time they hurt, but I got used to them, and now I have them off I'ts great because my teeth are really straight, and they look a lot better. all in all, the pain and suffering was worth the end result.

i had braces, and they were defiantly worth it, and i had mine on for two years! Every time i went to the orthodontist i had different coloured bands on my braces, they were cool! Everyone at school wanted to see what colours I'd have on every time I'd had them changed! My teeth are perfect now. (Oh, and five year olds dont wear braces.)

yea i had braces, for just under a year, and my teeth are perfect now.
to begin with it will hurt, and when you have the wire changed it will hurt for a day or so, but i felt that if i wanted perfect teeth it was worth it. it just depends how much pain you are willing to go through for perfection.

I never had braces, but my sister did. It looked wierd at first, but I got used to seeing them. She hated them though, at first anyway. They are worth it though. Her teeth look great now.
