Probably, s/he's using the Socratic method of evoking knowledge by asking questions. Perhaps the prof doesn't realize just how brilliant his/her students are!
OR, the dumb questions are intended to make you think twice about what is "apparent" and "obviously true."
Try asking more intelligent questions about the class material, and raise your prof's expectations!

Most people who think a teacher's question are stupid don't understand the question, or are far too full of themselves.
Of course this won't apply to you because your mental capabilities obviously far outweigh anything that anyone could possibly teach. It's apparent in the composition of your questions. I apologise for using polysyllabic words, it may mean finding a translator - good luck.
