At 5 wks Im bleeding some but (not) passing any clots and i have (no) pains, is this common? It is thick blood but not like my normal period. I spoke with the dr. and she says to rest and only go to E.R. if i have pain. I want only women who have been through this to respond pls. Is this common? If i had a MC what would be the things i would feel and notice? would there be more blood than my usuall period or does the amount of blood not matter? Also I had an abortion 7 yrs ago, could this be a result? I want this baby so much, i love it already!!

I bled like almost a normal period for my 1st month, but after that nothing. I've heard that you can spot for several months however.

If you are unsure or uncomfortable with the situation, demand to see your doc; if that person won't see you, go to a different one. It's YOUR body and YOUR baby and YOU need to do everything you can to take care of yourself and make sure everything is ok. Be proactive in our health care!!

I bled on and off with my son . When i was concerned i called the doctor and was checked out. Just be careful and relax and dont lift anything heavy. I was very active with work during pregnancy(im a nurse) but was very careful as to what i did. When ever you are concerned just call the doctor and ask for a check up. Better safe then sorry.

I bled up until the 5th month with my second daughter. There was never any pain with it though. I only bled with my second child not my other two. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about and she came out fine and dandy. So as long as you have contacted the doctor and you are not having any pain, I wouldn't be worried about it. And yes, if you miscarried, you would have pain I would think.
