I like them both for different reasons. More emphasis is usually put on Dylan because of the time. But I think Neil Young is just as good a writer and musician as Bob Dylan. If I had to pick I would pick Neil Young. He seems to be much more versatile than Dylan. He has done so many different types of music and to me a sense of evolution is what makes a musician great. The fact that he can go through so many changes and his music still holds up.

Bob Dylan is the poet. Neil Young is the artist. Neil Young met Bob Dylan because he wanted to be like Bob Dylan.

Everyone, including John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Johnny Cash, John Cougar Mellencamp, wanted to be like Bob Dylan.

Nobody ever said that Bob Dylan wanted to be like any of them.

Bob Dylan changed music forever. And he did it all by himself. Everyone else followed in his footsteps.

Neil - he needs a vote.

Counting Buffalo Springfield is the difference. Such a sweet sound. And Harvest and Rust Never Sleeps and Tonight's the Night etc.

I like both, but Bob Dylan is God. He's influenced everyone whether they know it or not. And some of Young's stuff has been pretty wierd. While not all of Dylan's stuff has been that great, he's put out some clunkers too, he still stands head and shoulders above everyone else.

Bay section continually help a brilliant number of youngsters...and he's extremely an innovator(good alongside with Dylan)...he style of,perhaps began the full "Grunge" element...and that i used to play a brilliant number of his stuff on acoustic with those hippie gals I had a overwhelm on"i replaced into mendacity in a burned out basement, with the whole moon in my eyes...."....and that i'll continually remember about the 1st time I heard "coronary heart of Gold"....Dylan is remarkable yet I say Neil youthful.
