clogged or carbonised or greasy carburettor may prevent the fuel from free flow before burning for combustions. dirty fuel filter also causes the fuel not to flow freely. water content in the fuel tank also gives the same symptom. very low timing also causes the vehicle to stall during idle engine. if your milage is more than 80,000 miles change your timing belts, change your fuel filter, servise your carburator and air filter. good luck.

Honey I have the same car, and had the same problem for months, didn't know what it was until my husband found out it was the starter. Sometimes turns on and sometimes it didn't want to give a sign of turning on but all lights and everything inside worked fine. The starters on the Nissan are so different the other cars, and when that piece get bad, the starter seem to keep on working for other things. So have your starter check, I'm sure your problem will be solve.
GOOD LUCK!

Since Wonder works as a part-time mechanic and also as a psychic hotline operator, I know exactly what the problem is. But first you'll have to call me at 1-900-WONDER-KNOWS-THE-FUTURE.** **$4.99 per minute, but the first 30 seconds are free. You must be 18 years or older to call. Not open to residents of Hackensack, NJ or those with a foot fetsh. You must not be an animal hoarder or a surfing instructor, and you must contact your doctor prior to calling this number. Those with a heart condition or who use Viagra will be given a preference. Operators are standing by.

Try to note the temperature on the temperature gauge when this happens. Contact Nissan and see if there are any recalls you should know about... and buy a Chilton or Hayes manual for your car. (Order from amazon.com or somewhere like that.) The manual could possibly save you money or repairs for simple things... or at least help give you a clue to how your car works. These manuals are really helpful for me!

I used to have that problem. There is a sensor chip in the engine that I think measures CO2. Mine needed to be replaced. It was a $25 part but like $100 in labor. If you don't trust your mechanic, take it to a dealer. They charge more but are usually reliable.
Good Luck!

It takes three things to make a car run spark, gasoline, and air. Replace fuel filter, put ejector cleaner in the gas tank and drive it around like that. Try these two things and see how it works.

Pretty much what they said, may be the fuel filter or your fuel pump is going bad. Slight chance your idle could be set too low, but chances are you would have always had probs with it from the beginning so i doubt that.
