Well, children learn in many different styles and intelligences. Teachers must differentiate methods to reach and teach all learners so they can learn and retain information. So if teacher only uses one method of teaching then only learners who best relate to that method will appropriately learn what you are trying to teach. Methods of teaching should vary with as many methods of learning that you have in your class.

Some people learn better visually, some by listening, some by writing, some by repetition, etc. A very good teacher uses at least two or three of these modalities during every lesson. This way, more students learn the lesson well.
For example: The teacher writes the information on the overhead(visual learning) and has students copy it(written learning. Then they discuss it orally(listening). The students then practice the lesson on their own or in groups (repetion) Then they apply the new information to a real life situation (analysis).
