Metric is clearly easier to understand and convert therefore metric is better.
Everything in metric ic in incriments of 10 so its always moving a decimal point...ie. 1 cm =10 mm or 1 m = 1000 mm.
having to convert inches to feet and inches is a pain in the butt. The United States of America should have converted strait to metric following all the other countries in the world when it was introduced.

Metric

It really winds me up when American's call their system 'The English system'. The English have been metric for decades!

Poor Canadians. Canada is metric but nearly everything they buy and sell comes from or goes to the States, so everybody has to use both.

It would certainly make my job easier if the Yanks went metric.

Metric, with everything calculated in tenths, is certainly simpler. I doubt the US will ever switch, though - would be way too many implications like all the scales in the country and pricing of everything sold by weight, not to mention just plain getting the public to buy off on a switch.

I am ashamed to say......I find both difficult to get to grips with.

And I have a Master of Arts degree so I'm not thick.

I guess I would say metric as it does seem to make the most sense of any!!

Metric makes more sense, but didn't grow up using it, except when buying Coke.
