I like the way you think! Actually I've been wondering the same question, and I was wondering, when we wake up will we see the things in their real forms? What is after this dream/life? Eternal suffering or heaven forever? Could it be that we can't really engage in life, each time we wake up we will start a new dream without remembering all what has happened in the previous one/ones?

If there is anything to wake up from it would only be the dream state that most live in. I don't think that it is really a form of reality but more of a conditioned state of consciousness. We are told to think about the future and never forget the past and spend our time in a perpetual fantasy land doing both. Neither act helps us exist in this moment in any way. Waking up from dreaming is just a realization. There isn't any method or ritual necessary. You are here and here you are. You are now and now you are. There is nothing to be done and nothing will be left undone.

While many philosophers, poets, madmen, and saints have suggested precisely this concept, this idea suggests the existence of an alternative and/or greater reality. However, there is no credible evidence that such a reality, in fact, exists.

Why death? You wake up to higher consciousness in life if there is grace of Guru, God and Text.
