Your gums do become more sensitive and may even bleed when you brush. The extra blood circulating puts pressure on the veins in the whole body so you may also notice that you bruise easier. I know I'm a guy and why do I know this - my wife's 4 pregnancies.

This usually happends in the second or third trimester. Gums start to bleed and puff up. Your body is working hard to create a baby and neglects basic body upkeep. Mine were really bad around 35 weeks. Just keep brushing and flossing, go to the dentist for a cleaning also. They will get better.

That is definitely something that happens when you are pregnant. Also after having the baby your gums will start to recede a little bit. It happens to some more than others. Just wait until you are in the 2nd trimester to go to the dentist.

Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

They can, but it really depends ont he person. One of my sister's had that and other problem during pregnancy, while me and my other sister had no problems. Ask you doctor and go to the dentist to make sure there is not something else wrong that is more serious.

It is possible. My gums would bleed when I brushed my teeth while I was pregnant.
