What is the point of talking to someone who is watching tv, if they are involved in what's on? Wait for a commercial. As for sucking out your brain, yes there is a lot of brain-sucking shows out there. There are good ones too. It's all about your perspective. Also, you must remember not to watch tv just because, you must have the willpower to turn it off if something retarded comes on like Martha Stuart or David Letterman or Matlock or The Unit or Saved by the Bell or My Fair Brady or MASH or an awards show............ I could keep going. My point is as long as you are watching something because it's interesting to you, great. As soon as you are watching tv because it's on and you've got nothing better in life, then you have a problem.

As a male over the age of 40, I'm finding I spend less and less time sitting watching TV. There are only about 6 channels I can watch without yelling at it "Who watches this crap?" Yo Momma, Pimp My Ride, The Simple Life...yeah, I can see how if these are the shows you're watching then you're losing brain cells by the billions.

The same can be said of today's movies. Posieden, The Hills Have Eyes...c'mon, these are remakes of shitty movies from MY childhood, why rehash old crap?

Somebody come up with an ORIGINAL idea once in awhile, PLEASE!!

TV was invented to bring information into everyone's living room. Then large corporations turned it into a marketing device. If it weren't for advertising, we'd still be watching TV in black and white with 6 over-the-air channels.

It's sometimes a form of mass-media mind control.
You start to really belive something if you see a lot of different people saying the same thing on TV, over and over and over.
The internet is way better because you are actively searching for your own answers to questions and it is easier for one person to voice their opinions and veiwpoints

TV is to entertain people.
Advertise (cereals, places to go etc)
To inform people about terrorists or what's happening around the world.

Sometimes it's a good escape, especially watching the comedy shows. TV boring? Not if you're watching NASCAR or NHRA drag racing!

what's the point with internet? It's more harmful than television, is making today's youths fat because they don't go outside to play any longer, it's making it easier for sickos to find their little kicks....

Television is a form of entertainment, just like books, games and movies.

It's supposed to be entertaining. Some people get very involved in storylines, which can lead to ignoring the other people in the room.

T.V is for people who are bored out of their mind and need something to do. It was created for entertainment purposes and to connect with reality, or sum form of reality mixed with fantasy.
