Rap is for people with no friends, no money for instruments or the desire to learn how to play an instrument if they had one. It may be entertaining and require some talent, but it is NOT music. "Rap Music" is an oxymoron. And the people driving around in cars with 2,000 watt sound systems disturbing the peace are inconsiderate idiots. Keep the S**T to yourselves! I don't make people listen to my entertainment, why do I have to listen to theirs? It's rude.

Rap does not suck and it should be respected for its origin and political freedoms . The words in Rap have NOT been sped up and put to a rhythm. The beats are made to match the lyrical flow and vice versa.

No. YOU SUCK for thinking that all rap uses sampled music. Go listen to The Roots or A Tribe Called Quest and come back in 5 years when you actually know something about rap.

Most rap is terrible. The words are filthy. A lot of times the words can't be understood, which is a good thing! They have 2 themes: lust and violence.
"Classic" rock is definitely a hundred times better. Modern rock may be better but not much. Modern rock is pretty bad. (Read my blog on my 360 pge)

neither is better....... it is all about personal preference! some rap isnt great and yes it may be dregrading and you cant understand it but some rap is the same why... it doesnt take talent to scream into a mic, just like it doesnt take talent to talk about diamonds and how many women u have, etc...... however, if we are judging by the music (not words just music), both are cool, some people (like myself) just get lost in the music and dont pay attention to words or screaming. both have good and bad things about them. so this is a question about preference, not for people to be putting down a certain genre of music just becaue it isnt their thing.....

Rap is cool. Only clean versions should be played on public radio though. Rap gives me energy while rock makes my head hurt. But it is all a matter of preference. I prefer ol'skool hip hop over them all and then jazz.
If you prefer rock, great! Spend your money on rock. If you prefer rap, great! Support you rap artists.

Yeah, some rap does suck. It's all the same nonesense about degrading women, shooting people up; basically promoting violence in our urban cities. At least with some rock, they talk about suicides...you're only hurting yourself and no one else. Ha! That and it's easier to play on the guitar.
