I only hear the sound when I turn. My car doesn't shake or have any other things wrong with it, that I can see. It just makes a rattling noise. What could this be?

I hope it is merely that you have thrown a weight off your tires--if so you will need them re-balanced or your allignment will be off and your tire wear will go bad.

Have someone actually listen OUTSIDE the car, a thrown weight sounds like a rock in a coke can in the hub-cap area.

Best wishes. Could be worse!

When turning is usually the Universal Joint (CV joint).
Throwing a weight ot the alignment being out wont cause an audiable noise, alignment will cause the steering wheel to be off center and/or the car to pull to one side and a wheel out of balance will cause a vibration at certain speeds.

Sounds like you smacked the tire and wheel assembly hard enough into the chuckhole to loosen up a suspension component. It might just be a mashed bushing that no longer takes up the clearance like it ought to, and then again it might be bent metal that could fail you during a hard braking maneuver. If it's a loud, rattly sound, might be worth your time to drive by your local garage and ask em to take a look...

was gonna suggest you jack that side of the car up and see what happens when you try spinning your tire forward and backward.
If you hear a clunking sound, probably your CV joint is going bad. you do have a front wheel drive car, right ?

get your wheel bearings checked it could be SERIOUS someone i know had a bearing go and when it happens the wheel stops turning this caused the car to crash and it was fatal don't mean to scare but it is very dangerous!!!

Have your CV Joint looked at. That pot hole could have damaged it and it needs to be fixed before it snaps causing you to lose control of your car. Try this turn your wheel one way or another real sharp and move slowly if it goes pop- pop- pop- pop- pop- its your CV Joint
