The three best engineering schools are
MIT
Cal Tech
UC at Berkeley
These three stand out above all of the others.
There are many other schools that are excellent in engineering. All of the Big Ten schools have great engineering programs (Minnesota and Wisconsin are among the top schools in Chemical Engineering).
Carnegie Mellon and Georgia Tech are also top notch. Duke and Stanford are also excellent.

Devri is number one as far as placement but very spendy.
Number one for placement and economical would be Idaho State University, because of the national engineering laboratory.
