Being a Tiger fan I should say The Tigers...no one (not even me) thought they would be where they are now.

But seriously, you have to consider The Reds!

They are only 1 1/2 games behind The Cardinals, and could take the wild card.

Wouldn't it be sweet to see The Reds & The Tigers in The WORLD Series?

Boston is not surprising....everyone knew they were good.

I am not a big fan of the red sox, but I'd rather see them win the East than those darn yankees!!

It has to be the Tigers!
After nearly setting the record for the most losses in one season and having nearly two 20 game losers on their team, things had to look terrible for them. For the tigers to come back and challenge the reigning world series champs for 1st has to be a shock for the baseball world at this point in the season.

Definately the Detroit Tigers. After seemingly stuck in an endless pit of sucky baseball, they are suddenly tearing up the American League. There should be an investigation if Leyland doesn't win manager of the year.

Good surprise - Tigers...who would have thought they are probably a Wild Card winner at least...

Bad surprise - Pirates...not that they were going to be world beaters this year, but because they are stinking it up worse than anyone (myself included) imagined.

I would have to say the Tigers because they have relied much upon rookies or young players. Also they relied on Kenny Rogers who nobody knew that he would have as good as a year that he is having.
