Hell yah!!! Oops, I mean Heavens yah!!!!!
My son wanted proof that Grampa still existed somewhere. So he went to bed one night and prayed to God for a sign. Just as he was in the process of falling asleep, his night night turned on. He screamed for me. I ran into his room, fearing the worst, followed by his younger sister.
It was obvious to my son that I didn't turn the light on, nor his sister. So who did? I asked him what was in the night table and he said "Grampa's stuff". So, the three of us took out this box that Grampa gave his great grandson, filled with his treasures. One of which was an old compass. We sat there, and I took the compass in hand, and moved my son's metal watch overtop, clockwise. Nothing. Next we tried my metal watch. Again, nothing. Then we tried my daughters watch, with the same result.
Oh so foolish -- we didn't try Grampa's watch. After all, it was his compass. So I took Grampa's watch out of the box, and moved it clockwise over the compass. To our surprise (after thinking the compass was obviously broken), the compass moved at the same speed and direction of the watch's movement. Then all of a sudden, the compass needle stopped, even though I didn't stop this clockwise movement, and it went counterclockwise, and double the speed or pace.
Well my son said that he knew that was physically impossible. After all he was taking science in grade school.
So I said to the children that Grampa is here, watching (pardon the pun) and must be laughing his head off. After all, he had a great sense of humour.
Yes, we know even though we can't see them, they are around. They will let us know somehow, be it through dreams, little "coincidences", or compasses! And yes, the kids believe too, even after all these years.

Yes, I do believe that there are spirits who try to communicate with us and guardian angels that help watch over us. I've heard that sometimes they try to communicate using electricity, but maybe that's just a rumor. Here's a little something that got us thinking. One of my sister's close friends passed away. They had a close connection and seemed to know what each other was feeling and thinking. The night my sister returned home, after her passing, the light beside her living room chair was on. She thought that she must have left it on by mistake. Before she went to bed that night, she turned it off and went to her bedroom which is right off the living room. When she woke up in the night to go to the bathroom, the light was on again! She turned it off and she even checked to see if the bulb or wires were faulty. They were fine. For many weeks, the same thing happened and then it eventually slowed and then stopped. She says that sometimes when she's had a bad day or has been thinking of her friend, the light will come on. It may be a freak thing, but she believes her friend is close by and always will be.

Hmmm here's one of the scariest ghost encounters I've had.
So me and my mom went to look at a house for sale. The person selling it said, just climb over the little fence and go take a look. The house is unlocked."
So we get to the house and go in. There's a room to the right and a large living area to the left. The room to the right has an old looking mirror at an odd angle. The room to the left had a shabby armchair in the corner. We go through the room on the left back to the kitchen. There's an eerie, cold feeling through the house. Now I've had plenty of experiences with ghosts and spirits before this, mostly spirits I knew when they were alive so I basically tried to minimize the eerie feeling to being in a strange old bungalow that was empty.
We went through the kitchen and out the back door to look at the garage. The minute we returned to the house, I felt like all hell broke loose. There were little kids up above the kitchen screaming and crying for help. It seemed smoky and like there was a fire above the kitchen and I seem to recall the area above the kitchen being open and seeing the burnt rafters and the little ones screaming. In the room with the chair a man was sprawled. He had piercing eyes, his mouth was open and his chest was bloody. I grabbed hold of my mom and basically dragged her out of the house when I saw the man. He was absolutely cold and evil. When we passed the chair, he actually got out of it and was walking behind us. We scrambled out of the house and over the fence with him close on our heels. I thought he'd follow us into the car the way he was, but he stopped the moment he got to the fence. I felt his eyes on me for several blocks.
It was certainly the scariest encounter I had, but I kinda prefer the company of more benevolent ghosts and spirits! LOL

on the day of my grandmother's 1 yr death anniversary, i was awake at like 2 a.m. and just staring up at my ceiling, i was wide awake because i just stopped reading a book and turned off my light. i climbed into bed and was preparing to go to sleep when i felt something tap lightly against my chest, kind of like someone was taking the palm of their hand and patting me. i stayed still because i started to get scared, but then my door started shaking like someone was trying to get in, like the door knob was rattling and everything. i freaked out and covered my head with my blanket and kept my maglite on all night. i was in 7th grade when this happened.
