That speed sounds about right. You also have to consider bandwidth, the other source's connection speed, and internet traffic.

Download Manager has a smart download logic accelerator that features intelligent dynamic file segmentation and safe multipart downloading technology to accelerate your downloads. Download Manager segments downloaded files dynamically during download process and reuses available connections without additional connect and login stages to achieve best acceleration performance.

The thing is, even though it might help you download faster, it is not noticeably different. It will help, but I think your speed sounds about right depending on what type of accelerator you are using. There are some smarter download accelerators that can increase your download speed to five times the normal.

I have Comcast Cable and use a download manager as well. Your download speeds depend on multiple factors, but with me I typically get anywhere between 200kbs - 600kbs per each connection the download manager opens.

So if I'm downloading an avi movie from a fast site, my download manager may open 7 connections to that site to download the avi file. Each connection is transferring at a speed between 200kbs - 600kbs.

Like I send though, it all depends on your ISP, the internet site/FTP you are trying to connect to, etc.

29Kbps sounds like a 28.8 dial up modem. You should be getting about 500 - 1000 Kbps on broadband.

It also depends on the speed of the other computer sending you the information. That speed sounds good.
