I think I would have to go with Belle cos she's more mature. I may get in trouble if I hang out with Ariel.

I love both! I like Ariel a little more because of her flaws that go along with her personality. She is brave, independent, and adventurous. She follows her heart, and goes after what she wanted despite what her friends and family thought. I can identify with making mistakes the way she did, and I love her devotion to Eric ( some people may not agree see that as she gave up too much of her life for him, but I think its cute, its not like he was a villain or anything.. he was falling in love with her too)
Belle I love too, but her character is more flawless, mature, and someone I would aspire to be. I can also identify with her too because she is notably a quirky girl for the time and place she lived in- the bookish, quiet girl. She "always had her head in a book" and sought after adventure in the mind through the things she read (sort of like Ariel, but Ariel went after it by what she observed about humans, not through something she studied in a book) . I love that she didn t go for a handsome guy, she put saving her father first from the Beast by sacrificing her freedom. She was able to look past his ugly exterior to the person he genuinely was. That maturity is something that I would want to have as an older person.

Belle - she was incredibly strong. Somehow, she manages to lift, not only her father, but the Beast, onto a draft horse, and get them home. Ariel woulda had to get another spell from the witch for that.

Ariel Its not so scary or violent for a little kids movie. But belle is awesome too.

Ariel--she is one determined little mermaid! Plus she's hot. Belle was very smart, well-read, but a little on the boring side.
Now the real question is Prince Eric or the beast? I'd pick Eric, of course. :-)

Belle. I swear to God, she's a cartoon version of me. Plus, I always thought Ariel was a bit of a ditz...never caring that she had a tail, always wanting something more...
