My periods are always irregular, so I don't really know if I'm late. It's day 36 of my cycle though. On day 28, I was spotting (something I normally don't do). For the last week or so my nipples have been sore and erect, my husband swears they are bigger too. Most my friends told me that their boobs were sore, but one said her nipples were so now I'm wondering. Thanks for all inputs.

Please don't just tell me to take a test. I probably will do that, but I wanna know people's opinions first.

I had those same symptoms with both of my children and with a miscarriage. Also, mentally I felt "warm and fuzzy", almost like I was in an alternate emotional universe. Did you noticed feeling especially hot for a day or so?...like your cheeks being flushed and your skin, especially on your torso and abdomen, being extra warm to the touch. During the actual fertilization of the egg, body temperature will rise. This would have occured the day or a few days after "the act". Breasts will begin to change right away, so if you are noticing uncommon changes, then something is most definately occuring. Ligaments in your pelvis and low back will start to loosen very early on, so if you notice a difference in the way you walk or if you feel sort of clumsy, it could be a sign. Drooling (like when you are sleeping on your side) and/or an extra watery mouth is a sign of salivary glands changing due to pregnancy. Nausea and/or appetite changes (really hungry/not hungry at all/only want to eat certain things) can begin to occur quite early in a pregnancy. Everything about you will change when you are pregnant, so just try to notice the little things. When your mind keeps saying "I'm pregnant" it is most usually right. If you find that you are not pregnant then it is really important that you try to find out what is causing your delayed menstration and breast changes. If you are pregnant and unsure of the date of conception, I have found that adding 22 weeks from the first time that I felt the baby's movement (usu. around 15 weeks from conception) was a very good (almost exact in my case) indicator for the due date and less costly/invasive than an ultrasound.
Best wishes.

I am 9 weeks along and my firs sign was my boobs hurting...they STILL hurt....but seriously,This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!
