Because your parents don't want a pedophile coming over. Myspace is a place for friends, but there are just as many sickos out there. I have a myspace, but i am of very legal age....and i don't post pictures of myself half naked at my slumber party, which is something i see alot of young girls doing. Talk to your parents about it, and let them know they can monitor it...give them your password so they can look at your page whenever, and make sure your not doing anything dumb. Earn their trust first!

Myspace makes it easier for pervs to contact children. The majority of teens on myspace are clueless idiots (no offense but they are) and they put up too much personal info that makes it really easy for them to be preyed upon by perverts and the likes.

Plus some teens are getting bullied via myspace and some schools have banned its usage because of that. But this is more of the media sensationalizing an incident.

listen to the news. all the crap going on about young girls giving out their information to these guys and in return getting raped. Your parents are being cautious. there should be some kind of system that thru your isp address detects whether your under age or not. Any one can put any age on there . dunno. im the same freakin way. my parents act like that im so stupid that ill put all my info on the page. but c'mon! gosh we are not THAT stupid!!!!! i mean if ppl get killed using it then its their own stupid problem because they were stupid enough to 1. put out their personal info and 2. to tell some stranger "come over my house and bla bla bla...."
