During World War II japaneses had jet fighters under construction in a hidden base under a mountain. Jet were unkown in any military aircraft. This palce was discovered after the US took control over the area, it was a surprise. Imagine what could happend to the proppeled aircraft fighting against jet engines. The thing is we need underground bases to protect our secret defense systems.
