Get a popup blocker. Yahoo offers a free one.

When you install the new yahoo toolbar you get a pop-up blocker button. It works. I am using mine and it is really good. Also if for any reason you get a pop-up even w the blocker, look closely at the pop-up. There is always an x spot at the bottom or at the top. You click it and then it closes off the pop-up

Other solutions. Stop Using IE, and use Macromedia Fire Fox.
Also, programs like Norton Firewall or Norton Antispam seems to block adds and PopUps.
The Tool bars can also block as well.

if you are running on windows Xp update with the latest service pack or download the latest IE, it has an in build pop up blocker
