Contractions began at 3am on Tues morning, my son was born at 2:42am Thurday morning. 6 and a half hours of pure pushing.
No meds or interventions. He was born very healthy but due to his positioning (occiput-posterior), labor was very long. The discomfort was EXTREME, but no real pain. When he was born, I felt time stand still. Those few second were worth everything. I felt really good afterwards, too. Ladies, don't let others scare you about labor...it can be one of the most special moments of your life.

If I count my total labor, it was like a week. I only count the time I had first went to the hospital though. That was 36 hours. With my second, I was in labor for 24 hours.

I was in labor for almost 12 hours with my first and for about 3 and half with my second. I am expecting any day now, and hoping that this labor will be like my last one.

haven't been there yet, but i thought i could answer with my "pipe dream"....

i hope it is short and sweet....like i was for my mom.
i hope to be in and out of that hospital! i'm talking a few hours...no more than 5 please!
my mom starting contractions at home, they left for the hospital and i was born about 15-30 minutes after they arrived.
they had to stop my dad from filling out the admission forms so he could see the birth.
i've been impatient ever since;)

take care and congrats on your little one!
i'm nervous about labor...and it's only 2 1/2 months away!
