you can take the piercing out when you get pregnant but my friend bought a long plastic bar specially for pregnant women that you put in your belly and it keeps the hole open and wont harm either of you. its so that it wont rip your skin as its long and plastic where as a metal body bar will. so that after you have given birth you can put one of your old ones in. hope this helps. in general though yeah it couls get caught on tops or jeans and it does happen to some people but most are ok, and you will only get an infection if you do not clean it properly but other than it should be ok. Bars are less likely to get caught than rings.

Okie, I have a belly button ring, so I know for a fact that it's not dangerous. It's just like getting your ears pierced. No harm to the baby. Unless, of course you're already pregnant....I dont know if that'd hurt the baby ...but your stomach would eventually stretch as your baby grows. It won't hurt the baby, but it will defintetly hurt you...and the piercing will just break open...

Not true, I kept mine in my entire pregnancy, the hole stretched quite a bit by the end I had an 8 G belly piercing lol but it went down with the rest of my skin and today it's normal. You should take your mom into a good clean reputable piercing parlor and have them speak to her about it. and to the person that said toung piercings give you cancer.....what facts do you have to back that up? Like to hear cause I think it's BS :)

No that is not true. The only way it could be dangerous is if you try to save a few bucks and get it done in some dark ally by some guy named skeeter who uses a rusty nail to do the piercing. Get it done by a pro and youll be fine and there is no way it could possibly affect a baby.Unless you pirce your womb!!

no it definitly will not harm a baby what-so-ever. It is out side of your stomach which does not even touch the baby. If by any chance you are pregnant the best thing to do is just take out the piercing so the hole doesn not rip....

I don't know if that is true but my friends had a ring on and it got stuck on her jeans. when she stood up her skin ripped cauz the ring dragged through her skin. Sincce then, I have never thought about getting a belly button piercing.

Belly piercings are removable, so how could it effect your baby, it goes threw two pieces of skin, it'll be harmful to you if you tred to keep it in during the full 9 months.

Ive had mine for 10 years and I have never had a problem with it, I from personal experience think it safe as long as they use sterile stuff youll be fine. I took mine out when I was pregnat only because my belly got so big and i was scared it was gonna rip out, but Ive also had friends that kept them in throught their pregnancies and they were fine.

Nooooo it will not harm the baby- you'll need to take it out because as your tummi gets bigger and stretches-- the ring will not fit to the stretching-- but you can get it repeirced after the baby-- it does leave a scar though- make sure you want it- you'll have the scar forever

Yes it can be very dangerous. You can get a very big infection in your belly button and might have to get surgery. It's not worth it
