If it is taking you a long time, you may want to consider starting your own business. It too takes time but if you work at it, the long term potential is much greater than a job. You will be keeping all the profits.

This site offers some great ideas, articles and information that may help you. Whether you start your own business or not, whatever you do, do it with all your might.

I think it all depends on what kind of job you are looking for. Where I work we help individuals who are professionals in the working world and who have been laid off or lost their job due to restructuring or any other reason.

If you have a good resume and it looks sharp and a well written cover letter, you definately increase your job search success. We tell individuals who come to see us that it will take approxiamately any where from 3 weeks to 3 months.

I have recently gone through a career transition and I was only out of work 3 weeks before I was able to retrain and then worked 6 weeks on a placement as was able to find employment with the company that I did my placement with.

Hope this helps a little bit.. Best of luck in your job search.

It depends on how loing and hard you look. For example, if you approach you job search the way a sales rep works, you'll spend up to 8 hours a day finding prospective companies, contact names and visiting to drop off a resume in person (highly recommended). Obviously this will work a lot faster than just looking at the Sunday paper. Also, remember, most jobs openings are not posted. Good luck!

I have been looking for a different job for about 4 or 5 months, but I just started sending out my resume. The first one I sent out I got a call, an interview, and three job offers, but I couldn't afford the pay cut. I sent out two more resumes this week, and I am waiting to hear from them. It's tough right now to find a job that pays well and doesn't suck.

If you live here in Michigan they are no good jobs. I have been looking for a "Good paying Job" for about 5 years now. I took a 17K pay cut. Maybe it just me. Good luck on your search..

I work from home. I do not sell, stock, or deliver anything.
All I do is set up wholesale accounts for a catalog company.
This is a SOLID 20 year old company, with NO large investments,
and if you are not satisfied, you get all your money back within 90 days.
This company is set apart from ALL other companies.
In two short years my mom, who is a stay at home mom, and home schools her kids,
is making very reliable, residual income.
