Dylan's writing has always been reflective of what's going on in the world. At the same time he has also been very introspective as he is a bit reclusive. Dylan's music changed not only because he found religion, but also because he grew older, more mature, more wise, more sure of some importances in life. I love his music, the old- the new it doesn't matter, he has a wonderful gift that he's willing to share with the world.

He became "born again" in 1978 and then released Slow Train in 1979. This was the 1st of his Christian trilogy. This changed his lyrical references radically.
As far as musical style, He went "electric" at a folk festival (with Mike Bloomfield backing him on guitar) and got booed off the stage by the "purists". This was around 1966.
